Virtual Assistant for the Camino de Santiago in the Cider Region to offer 24/7 visitor service
The Cider Region, made up of the Asturian municipalities of Bimenes, Cabranes, Colunga, Nava, Sariego and Villaviciosa, has boosted its tourism promotion and development strategy by launching a Virtual Assistant for the St James Way.
This initiative, which is available via a downloadable progressive web application (PWA), allows pilgrims to visualize on a digital geographic map the different sections of the Camino de Santiago that pass through the Cider Region, which span over 37 kilometres, among which are the following: La Espasa - Priesca, Priesca - Casquita, Casquita - El Curbiellu, Casquita - Aramanti.
For ease of use, users can access and navigate routes without the need for mobile data, as the user's geolocation is powered by information provided by the GPS signal, Bluetooth technology and the mobile network.
As part of these itineraries, you will also find geolocated heritage and cultural resources of great historical relevance, such as the Pre-Romanesque Church of San Salvador de Priesca, the Old Town of Villaviciosa, the Pre-Romanesque and Romanesque Monument Ensemble of Valdediós and the Romanesque Church of Santa María de Narzana, to name but a few.
