Beacons and digital screens in heritage resources in Calpe to improve the tourist information service and analyse the behaviour of demand

Through the EDUSI Strategy "Revitaliza Calp" co-financed by the ERDF Fund, Calpe Town Council has launched several actions focused on the digital transformation of its tourism model.

Firstly, a total of 75 Beacon devices have been installed at various points of tourist interest, such as Las Salinas, the Peñón de Ifach and the Baños de la Reina.

These devices equipped with IoT technology, supplemented by the development of a mobile application called "Calpe", automatically detect mobile devices in their vicinity and, as long as they have the application downloaded and Bluetooth activated, send information about the tourist resources at which they are located and the nearest places of tourist interest.

In addition to this, 8 interactive digital screens have been set up in the following areas: Fossa beach, Arenal-Bol beach, Muralla Roja, La Lonja, Casa de Cultura, Plaça dels Mariners, Plaça de la Villa and Plaça d'Espanya.

These devices provide tourist information to visitors and are operational 24 hours a day, seven days a week.
