The SayOBO tourist chatbots of Morella and Vinaròs as artificial intelligence tools to automate visitor service and meet tourist and health information needs
In Morella and Vinaròs, inclusive chatbots have been introduced for the tourism sector, developed using the inclusive artificial intelligence technology platform SayOBO.
The projects, installed in the tourism websites of both towns, have knowledge bases which include the responses to a large number of questions about the town, monuments, inclusive tourism, services, local businesses, activity schedules and health & safety measures related to COVID-19.
The chatbots and their databases will continue to evolve as tourists interact with them. Initially, they will interact with users in Spanish and Valencian, to then later introduce the ability to answer in other languages based on need.
The main objectives for this tool are as follows:
- Inclusive access to digital tourist information which is automated, immediate and simple.
- Support for technicians and managers to make their services more scalable and accessible.
- Detecting new issues relating to COVID-19 and adapting how the destination communicates to provide a safe destination.
- Training to detect new needs, interests and improvements within the destination through interactions between the chatbot and tourists.
