Augmented Reality to improve visitor experience in Antequera’s museums
The Museo de la Ciudad de Antequera (MUVA) was one of the pioneers in Spain in implementing Virtual Reality and Augmented Reality in its catalogue of services.
A mobile application was developed under the name AURASMA, in which any user, using their own mobile device or tablet, can easily and intuitively get to know the emblematic heritage of the city of Antequera.
Through the 24 pieces that are virtualised in the mobile application, the user can enjoy sculptures from different historical periods, paintings, artistic representations, showcases and even distinguished figures from the local heritage with whom they can interact and learn about their own history. In order to guarantee that any user can use and enjoy this application, with or without functional diversity, the content of this application is offered in both Spanish and English, and the information provided is written in Easy Read format, supplemented with voice-overs and subtitled audiovisual content.
