Smart signage in Úbeda’s monuments to reinforce information services and analyse visitor behaviour
This project, promoted by Úbeda Town Council, arises from the need to supplement the physical signage already present in the destination with technological tools that make tourist information available to visitors in different digital and accessible formats.
In the city of Úbeda, declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO in 2003, 29 information totems have been installed in the most important squares and historical monuments.
These information points, where interpretative and directional signage is accompanied by Beacon technology and geo-beacons, allow the destination to perform two functions in parallel:
- Automatically send tourist information to users' mobile devices about the resource, space or tourist establishment where the visitor is at that moment.
- Obtain data on tourist flows in the city, and even information on certain aspects of the user profile.
