Sistema central de almacenamiA central storage system and tourism distribution channel aimed at improving the visibility of SMEs on the market

The Australian Tourism Data Warehouse (ATDW) is a system to consolidate and promote tourist attractions and the Tourist Office's digital content. It was created so that all the suppliers within the ecosystem can share what they have to offer and gain visibility on the market. The system allows the traffic and market data of a product to be analysed via a scorecard, letting suppliers monitor the profitability of their tourism proposals.

The dynamic behind the ATDW is based on four main phases:

  • Travel companies create lists of their products and/or services through the online platform.
  • State Tourism Organisations verify the lists uploaded to the database, analysing and checking whether they meet the established National Content Standards.
  • Over 250 distributors then take lists of interest from the platform to publish them on their online channels.
  • End consumers can see these lists of tourism services on a wide range of licensed digital platforms.

The platform currently features a list of over 90,000 products, sorted into 11 categories: accommodation, attractions, tours, events, transport, rental, routes, meal services, information centres, general services and general information about the destination.

The ATDW is a free-access platform financed by various tourism organisations in Australia, although there are certain eligibility criteria. For non-profit events and organisations, access to the platform is completely free, while accredited or standard businesses must pay a low monthly subscription fee.
