The Alto Gállego region, in the Aragonese Pyrenees, stands out for its extraordinary natural and cultural heritage and its excellent location and accessibility, making it an ideal base for exploring the entire Pyrenees.
Its landscape combines high peaks, pre-Pyrenean valleys, rivers, forests, and rich biodiversity, much of which is protected within the Network of Protected Natural Areas.
The region offers an extensive network of trails, mountain huts, and outdoor activities, as well as theme parks and attractions for all ages throughout the year.
In addition to this natural environment, there is a valuable cultural legacy: vernacular architecture, historic bridges, living traditions, museums, and interpretation centers, with the Serrablo Churches being a particularly noteworthy example of medieval art.
In winter, snow takes center stage thanks to the Aramón Formigal-Panticosa alpine ski resort, Nordic skiing at the Panticosa Spa, and numerous ski touring routes.
But in addition, hiking, cycling, active tourism, and the hosting of major sporting and cultural events are highlights throughout the year.
All of this is complemented by a diverse range of accommodations, restaurants, and services, making Alto Gállego an attractive destination in any season.
| Joining the Smart Destinations project |
The Alto Gállego region joins the DTI Network in December 2023, completing the diagnostic process and development of strategic lines for its transformation into a Smart Tourist Destination in December 2025. |
