In Hoyo de Manzanares, tradition goes hand in hand with modernity in a commitment to quality, innovative, and sustainable tourism that involves the local population and businesses, creating initiatives that strengthen our identity, improve the quality of life of our residents, and promote inclusive tourism.
Among its main attractions is the La Cabilda archaeological site, dating back to the Visigothic period, which confirms the existence of the settlement until the Emirate period.
Furthermore, the town is working to recover the cinematic legacy linked to the Golden City sets, the first permanent film sets in Europe, where numerous Westerns were filmed.

Hoyo de Manzanares joined the Smart Tourist Destinations project in 2022, and in 2023 the first diagnostic assessment was carried out, culminating in the delivery of the Diagnostic Report and Action Plan for its transformation into a Smart Tourist Destination. In 2025, the diagnostic process for renewing its status as an Adherent Smart Tourist Destination was completed. |

- Hoyo de Manzanares is a municipality with a high degree of environmental protection, as 100% of its territory is protected by the designation of the Upper Manzanares River Basin Regional Park, guaranteeing the conservation of its biodiversity.
- The town is a member of the Community of Madrid’s Cultural Heritage Network, which promotes an approach to the social challenges in cultural heritage management through three components: social participation, sustainable management, and knowledge transfer. The La Cabilda Archaeological Site serves as an exemplary case of the values and objectives of this initiative.
- It is part of the Community of Madrid’s Network of Tourist Offices and, within the framework of the Sierra de Guadarrama Destination, has held the SICTED quality seal, promoted by the State Secretariat for Tourism, since 2013.
- As a member of the Association for the Development of the Sierra de Guadarrama (ADESGAM), we work to develop, promote, expand, and consolidate actions aimed at the sustainable development of the region.
- The destination achieves one of its highest levels of compliance with the DTI methodology in the Governance axis.
