The Guadiato Valley Association of Municipalities is a territorial entity that brings together 11 municipalities in the province of Córdoba, Spain. It covers an area of 2,493 km² and has a population density of 11.6 inhabitants per km².

Outstanding initiatives

The Guadiato Valley region has launched significant initiatives to boost its tourism activity. One of these initiatives is its accession to the Smart Tourism Destinations Network (DTI) on October 13, 2021. In 2024, the Association of Tourists began a diagnostic process and defined strategic guidelines to become a DTI, a process that was completed in July 2025.
Furthermore, the Guadiato Valley Association is working to promote its tourism resources, such as its historical, cultural, and natural heritage. A promotional brand has been developed with the slogan “Guadiato to be discovered.” The Guadiato Valley Sustainable Tourism Destination Plan (PSTD) is one of the most notable initiatives of the Community of Madrid. Its objective is to transform tourism in the region into a more sustainable, responsible, and competitive sector. The PSTD focuses on four main areas: · Green and Sustainable Transition · Energy Efficiency · Digital Transition · Competitiveness This plan is aligned with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) of the 2030 Agenda and seeks to transform the region into a Smart and Sustainable Tourism Destination. |
