Movilok Showcases consists of a series of technologies and services that allow a conventional digital screen to be used as a channel for communicating with people in what we refer to as an “interactive exhibitor”. For the purposes of interaction, the visitors’ mobile phone is used, which acts as a remote control for the content shown on the digital screen. The interaction begins directly by scanning a QR code shown and there is no need for the user to download any additional application on to their mobile device.

The channel acts in both directions and can be used, for example, to download content to a mobile phone, to open other applications or websites on a mobile phone and complete a purchase or to send requests or comments from the mobile phone using forms. The system automatically detects the device’s language so that, if translated content is available in the visitor’s language, the content is presented in that language or, failing that, in the language established in the settings. When nobody is interacting with the screen, the “interactive display” works in the same way as a traditional digital signage solution, sequentially presenting multimedia content.

To use Movilok Showcases, all that is needed is a web browser displayed on screen, configured using the ‘mshowcases.com’ service account To roll out a standalone display, Movilok can also provide a “mini PC” device configured using a current web browser in kiosk mode, which connects to the display’s screen.

The solution can also be used with touchscreens in interactive touch mode or with mobile phones.
