Capacity control and visitor flow management in Albaycín to guarantee compliance with security measures
The COVID-19 pandemic has led the Granada City Council to install capacity control cameras in the Albaycín neighbourhood, one of the destination’s tourist areas with the highest concentration of visitors.
These capacity control cameras, making use of Artificial Intelligence and supported by cybersecurity measures that guarantee compliance with the Data Protection Law, constantly count the number of people passing through the Albaycín neighbourhood, determining the capacity limits and issuing alerts to the corresponding authorities if necessary.
The destination has also implemented a smart management platform that manages the data collected by the various sensors installed in the Albaycín neighbourhood. This platform will be the basis on which a larger platform will be built that will store data on the destination as a whole, so that its management will contribute to the efficiency of decision-making processes in terms of tourism and the environment.
