Virtual tours in Cartagena’s museums and heritage sites to improve the quality of the tourist information service and the attractiveness of resources

The Department of Tourism at Cartagena City Council, in collaboration with the Cartagena Port of Cultures Consortium, has developed a total of four virtual tours that run through the most relevant heritage elements of Cartagena, which are available on the web portal, along with other virtual tours of museums in the city, such as the Regional Museum of Modern Art MURAM, the Municipal Archaeological Museum and the City Hall Palace.

The virtualisation of spaces, such as La Casa de la Fortuna, the Museum of the Roman Theatre and the Castillo de la Concepción, to which the spaces of the Civil War Shelter Museum, the Christmas Fort and the Museum of the Roman Forum will be added, has been carried out using a 3D modelling system and Virtual Reality. These technologies allow the user to enjoy an immersive, interactive and accessible experience through their mobile device.

These routes, offered in two languages (Spanish and English), also have sections with information on the resources that make up the itineraries in different formats, such as audio-descriptive videos, images and infographics.
