The “Rutas Las Presillas” Tourism Sustainability Plan for Destinations (PSTD) is a comprehensive strategy backed by €1.7 million in *Next Generation EU* funding, designed to transform the municipality’s tourism model. Its primary objective is to balance high visitor numbers with the protection of the Lozoya Valley’s natural environment, transforming Rascafría into a Smart Tourism Destination (DTI). To achieve this, the plan implements key measures at the Las Presillas recreational area and its access points, combining the restoration of degraded areas and the use of renewable energy with digital solutions for the smart management of visitor flows. In this way, the initiative aims to mitigate summer overcrowding, enhance the traveler experience through modern infrastructure, and ensure the long-term conservation of this valuable mountain ecosystem. |
