San Javier - Smart Tourist Destination

San Javier is a municipality in the Region of Murcia. The coastal towns of Santiago de la Ribera and the central and northern part of La Manga del Mar Menor also belong to the municipality, as well as inland districts such as: El Mirador, La Calavera, La Grajuela, La Ribera, Lo Llerena, Los Pinos, Los Saez, Pozo Aledo and Roda.

Two of the five volcanic islands in the interior of the Mar Menor also belong to San Javier: La Isla Mayor or del Barón, and Isla Perdiguera, the most visited.

The General Air Academy has been located in San Javier since 1927.

Between its main assets, the Tiflológico Aeronautical Museum is one of the most relevant tourist resources and it is accessible to people with visual or hearing disabilities.

Start of the diagnostic process and action plan for the San Javier Smart Tourist Destination in August 2022 and completion in January 2023.

San Javier is implementing its Urban Agenda 2030 based on the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals.
It has Quality Certifications: Q, S, ISO as well as being a SICTED destination.
It is running several Smart City initiatives.
The value of the wealth of its seabed is underway, which treasures a Phoenician ship from the 7th century BC.
One of the few known sites from the Phoenician era in the Mediterranean. What constitutes this enclave in an authentic underwater archaeological park.
